In 2024 I have been teaching a series of Sashiko stitching workshops for children with the Young V&A in Bethnal Green. We have made patches utilising creative mending skills to repair and renew our clothes using the ancient Japanese stitching technique called Sashiko. This term means ‘little stab’ and is a great way to breathe some new life into an old garment and has been used for centuries as an art of repair. This series of workshops was created to coincide with the 2024 exhibition: Myths to Manga.
